Spirit of Adventure

I was commissioned to create 48 artworks for the Saga cruise liner, ‘Spirit of Adventure’. The overarching theme for the art on board is a celebration of the British Isles and the ship contains bespoke pieces from British artists throughout. Through my own research I selected 48 different locations that I felt showcased an element of our cultural or natural heritage. My illustrations were printed as fine art Giclee prints and are designed to hang in sets of 16 triptychs to line the cabin corridors of a complete deck.

The prints take the viewer on a journey around the British Isles from the capital city, through ancient parkland and along the UK’s extensive and varied coastline. Native wildlife such as London’s plane trees, the Lake District’s red squirrels and the Norfolk Broads’ cranes are all celebrated throughout the series. Architectural triumphs like Brunel’s Clifton suspension bridge and Cornwall’s Minack Theatre, carved into the cliffs above the Atlantic Ocean, also feature. Other locations in the collection include: Aldeburgh, Brighton, Birling Gap and The Seven Sisters, The Channel Islands, Cornwall, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Hastings, London, New Forest and the Scottish Isles.  A selection of these prints are available to buy from my shop.
